Dora Ortega has over thirty years experience working in public education. As an educator she has taught all grade levels, worked as a counselor at middle and high school, and been adjunct faculty at National University preparing new teachers in psychology and multicultural/diversity aspects of education. Currently, Dora is an independent educational consultant with Educational Consultants, a consortium of professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive services to school districts, as well as serving as a mentor for Ecokidsclub in San Diego.
Dora served on the Board of Directors of the American Civil Liberties Union, for over fifteen years. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the Center for Social Services of San Diego. Ms. Ortega has received commendations from two different San Diego City mayors commending her contributions to education and service to her city..
Dora Ortega received a fellowship and earned her Masters degree in Counseling with an emphasis in counseling the students with diverse backgrounds and cultures at San Jose State University. She attended National University for her studies in Educational Administration.
