Macon, GA/LWW Press/July 24, 2012 – –Jana J. Edmondson, Esq., Bilingual Staff Attorney, Georgia Legal Services Program, Inc., was selected for inclusion in the 2012 edition of The Latino American Who’s Who.
Jana J. Edmondson is a bilingual attorney who successfully provides bilingual legal counsel and representation to individuals in federal and state administrative forums as well as courts of law. Her practice areas include family law (domestic violence), housing law, public benefits, health law, wills and estates, education law and consumer law with a focus on limited English proficiency (LEP)/equal language access issues. 85-90% of her clients are Latino. Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP), Inc. is a non-profit law firm whose mission is to provide access to justice and opportunities out of poverty for low-income Georgians. GLSP serves 154 of Georgia’s 159 counties. Jana’s secret to success is her belief in and passion for her work.
Appointed by the State Bar President, Jana currently serves on the State Bar of Georgia Access to Justice Committee as well as serving as Regional Vice President of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. She is also a member of the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Executive Council. Additionally, Jana was 1 of approximately 40 young lawyers statewide selected to participate in and graduate from the 2012 State Bar of Georgia YLD Leadership Academy. In 2011, Jana was 1 of approximately 40 candidates statewide to graduate from the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials (GALEO) Institute for Leadership. Her hobbies include cooking, traveling, and reading. Jana received her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and her law degree from Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi.
The Latino American Who’s Who is a New York based biographical publication that selects and distinguishes leading Latino professionals as well as non-Latino professionals throughout the world who have attained a recognizable degree of success in their field of endeavor and thereby contribute to the growth of their industry and the Latino culture.
