Midland, TX /LWWPress/July 11, 2011 – –Mirella H. Valenzuela, BSN, RN, CDE, with Midland Memorial Hospital, the only not-for-profit hospital in Midland County, Texas , was selected for inclusion in the forthcoming 2011 edition of The Latino Who’s Who.
Mrs. Valenzuela, when asked about her nursing career, often responds with “I consider my nursing career as my own ministry”. She has dedicated her whole life to helping others and raised four children before starting to work towards her nursing degree at the age of 40.
After a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication, she is now the Nurse Educator for Inpatient Diabetes and has been employed with MMH since 2009. Mirella obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Phoenix and her Associates Degree in Nursing from Midland College. She is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. At MMH, Mirella serves on the Clinical Quality Professional Practice Council, the Glycemic Control Committee, and is a Qualified Spanish Medical Interpreter for the Cultural Diversity Program.
