The Latino American Who’s Who Recognizes Wendolyn Velez-Torres

Wendolyn Velez-Torres is in her eighth year of teaching at Roland Park Country School. Prior, she was a Special Education teacher in DC-where she created and implemented computer integration programs for 3 different schools.

She has been in education for 14 years and also served in the United States Marine Corps for 8 years. She has authored an in-depth multimedia anti-cyberbullying curriculum, for which she has received numerous professional accolades and has been asked to present on countless occasions in area schools. Her secret to success has been her passion for her profession as she teaches from a pure desire to see kids love to learn.Wendolyn Velez-Torres # 3936 logo

Wendolyn has a Bachelors Degree in Special Education from Hood College and a Masters in Education with a concentration in Educational Technology from Goucher College. She is Part of the Technology Task Force for RPCS, on the committee for the Association for Independent Maryland and D.C. Schools and a member of the  International Society for Technology in Education. In 2013, she received the Helms Award for Outstanding Teaching and has gotten 9 summer grants for technology education. In 2011, she received the Tech4learning Innovative Educator Award and the  Shining Star Favorite Teacher Award in 2002. Lastly, she got Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Marines and received the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

The Latino American Who’s Who is a New York based biographical publication that selects and distinguishes leading Latino professionals throughout the world who have attained a recognizable degree of success in their field of endeavor and thereby contribute to the growth of their industry and culture.  The Latino Who’s Who promotes an awareness of the achievements of the Latino professional and executive by creating a networking platform to provide recognition of individual accomplishments. The annual registry of the Latino American “Who’s Who” is formatted as an elegant hard cover edition as well as an online edition that provides information on recognized individuals. It also contains cross references by names, professions and family country of origin.
